Attendees:
President, Stephen Phillips called the meeting to order on the above date and time then proceeded to follow the order of business.
Secretary, Palmira Miller read the minutes from the previous meeting held March 28, 2006. Heidi moved that the minutes be approved as read and placed on file. Mary Jo seconded the motion with all members present voting in the affirmative.
Treasurer, Steve Masakowski read and presented the treasurers report. · The organization has a total of $4,230.58 in the FNCB Checking Account, $63.40 in the Printing Reserve and $100.00 petty cash. · The organization has sixty-five (65) active members or, thirty-five (35) more than the same period last year. Carolyn made a motion to accept the treasurer’s report as presented and placed on file. Jim seconded the motion with all members present voting in the affirmative.
Bills, Steve M. reimbursed Joe Maloney $69.19 for the purchase of the audio cassette recorder and tapes.
Communications, Steve M. reported: · A letter was received from the South Valley Chamber of Commerce. o Stephen P responded on behalf of the Organization. Letters attached.
The 1st Vice President, Russ Sager had nothing to report
The 2nd Vice President, Tom Kashatus reported and members discussed the following: · The website in Ohio, ameliavillage.com, and how a website can be used as a selling point for our township. · The structures at 63 E Enterprise St and 10 W Kirmar Ave are now at the Township level of the demolition program. · The burning ordinance that may be passed and how this may eliminate burning throughout the township which may generate more garbage along the roads and landfills. · Why the township is not enforcing the ordinances already in place.
Publicity Chairman, John Jarecki reports: 1. Meeting announcements were published in the Times Leader and the Citizens Voice. 2. The Great American Cleanup on April 22nd o Press releases were sent to the Citizens Voice and the Times Leader. o WBRE was notified to cover this event. 3. Two volunteers are needed for the Summer Newsletter.
Committee Reports: · Al Rende sent out flyers in the schools. GNA will fund drinks. · Chantel, of the Girls and Boys Club of America will be notified of the cleanup and asked to speak at our next meeting. · Carolyn had nothing to report on the fall festival. · Heidi will send back the license plates, to spell out heart, because the ♥ symbol looks like an apple.

New Business Mary Margaret read a report by Murph who was unable to attend this meeting. · A $25.00 check was received for a newsletter ad from Hazle Associates. · Sunday, May 7th will be a community hike to the Indian Hole in Wanamie. All are welcome to hike. Meeting place is the municipal parking lot at 10:00 am. Bring your own food and drinks. Wear appropriate clothing, hiking boots, hat, suntan lotion, insect repellant, and first aid kit. You are responsible for your own safety. · Our organization is selling tickets. Drawing is May 29th at 7:00 pm.
The next Commissioners work session is April 19th at 5:00 pm.
Our next scheduled meeting is April 25, 2006 at 6:30 PM, Knights of Columbus in Glen Lyon.
