Other Activities: OPERATION SAVE A LIFE We are participating again this year with operation save-a-life, and channel 16 (WNEP) by providing free smoke detectors to needy residents.
Meeting with Nanticoke and Hanover Fire Departments to discuss mutual aid, and share equipment availability as well as equipment and personnel abilities.
Disaster Exercise concerning Emergency Management and the Nuclear Power Plant in Salem Twp. We were federally supervised and rated. We, for the first time, attended the critique held several days later at Wildflower Manor. We were rated as one of the “Highest rated municipalities” we were rated in 18 different areas. Here is a quote from the raters under Noteworthy Observations: Dynamic, knowledgeable EMC Active, energetic EOC staff, and Demonstrations exceeded extent of play” Comments from the other Federal Observer: “Great staff attitude and performance”
Training: CPR Truck 1
Training continued: Driver Training on new apparatus and equipment
Equipment Repairs/Status Tele-squirt 163, was inspected and oil change Old engine 2 needs muffler and tail pipe to be inspected Mini-pumper needs to have title and license fixed prior to inspection.
Lettering on vehicles will be done next week. All vehicles have new radios. An arrow stick for the rear of Rescue 163 has been ordered (money from bike run) 6 portable radios and a multi-bank charger have been ordered, they will be placed on the tele-squirt ( money raised from bike run) Assorted medical supplies to complete trauma bags on each truck (money raised from bike run) Dry Hydrant has been installed in Lee Section We received 10 Drager air packs and spare bottles from a fire co. in Washington County. Aprox value $30K
