Attendees:
President, Stephen Phillips called the meeting to order on the above date and time, then proceeded to follow the agenda set on May 12th.
Secretary, Palmira Miller read the minutes from the meeting on April 28, 2009. Carol made a motion to accept the minutes as read, seconded by Heidi, all voted in favor. Palmira read the agenda set for this meeting with a unanimous consent by members.
Treasurer, Steve Masakowski read and presented the treasurers report. Mary Margaret made a motion to accept the treasurers report as read and placed on file, seconded by Debbie, all voted in favor.
Bills and Correspondence: 1. $150 paid to Frank Wanko for the production of 50 DVD’s. 2. This years NTCO Little League field banner is $40.
Committee Reports: The Great American Cleanup of Pennsylvania, Palmira reports: 1. From April 20th to May 1st, 3 big cleanup events took place, 156 volunteers, 730 volunteer hours, 12 participants, Tom recycled 14,770 pounds of various metals, with an estimate of 52,528 pounds of garbage and 602 tires were discarded. The numbers may be higher when PennDOT reports come in on the illegal dumpsite projects. 2. The Pennsylvania Environmental Council has not made a decision on the contractor site cleanups. 3. Waste Reduction, JP Mascaro and the Fathers Group will be invited to attend our meeting to accept a 5 year participation award in the Great American Cleanup of PA. 4. Deb volunteered to maintain the memorial tree at the rec park.
Heidi Selecky 1. Changes were submitted to the Cat’s Meow for the coal breaker miniature. 2. 50 DVD’s are available for sale.
Carol 1. On behalf of the Mill Memorial Library, Carol thanked members for donating funds to purchase a die cut machine. John will handle the publicity.
Summer Fun activities, Melissa discussed the following: 1. The first Summer Fun Event is a reptile demonstration. Carol made a motion to pay a $25 deposit to the proprietor of Creepy Creatures for the first event, seconded by, Mary Margaret, all voted in favor. 2. They are looking into using the high school pool.
Good of the Order 1. The next Commissioners meeting is June 1st at 6:00. 2. Our next meeting will be at the Guardian Eldercare Center, Sheatown, at 6:30. 3. Mary Margaret will make arrangements to see a baseball game, August 7th. A commitment of 20 is needed before tickets are purchased.
Paul made a motion to adjourn the meeting. Heidi seconded the motion, with all voting in favor.
