Unfinished Business

1.        Palmira contacted Julie from the PA Environmental Council.  They receive grant money and work with PA CleanWays, COALS and community volunteers in cleaning up illegal dump sites.  We can arrange to work with them to cleanup sites such as the Newport Cemetery on Sterns Road.

2.        Steve M. and members discussed donating $250 to Newport Township Little League.  Since the season is now over, members will table this discussion and revisit it in February.

3.        Bill spoke with the Senior Vice President of Omega Bank concerning the vacant bank building in Glen Lyon.  Members discussed acquiring this building.  Bill was appointed the official liaison to investigate, look at the building, and bring back information to members.

4.        Murph toured Trout Run to the reservoir with Mike Dziak and the Fish Commission.  The lower creek doesn’t need a lot of work, while the upper part can use more ponds.  No trout were found below the waterfall.  In the spring, Earth Conservancy will make an assessment to lay out repairs needed.

New Business:

·    Heidi would like to see the Post Office stay in Glen Lyon and asked members to do business there.

·    Members discussed Joe handling the Christmas contest this year.  Prizes will stay the same, $100, $75 and $50.

Good of the Order:

The Commissioners will hold a special meeting tomorrow concerning the garbage contract and the 2008 budget.

Meeting adjourned at 8:26 pm.
