President, Stephen Phillips called the meeting to order on the above date and time then proceeded to follow the order of business.

 

Steve Masakowski read the minutes from the previous meeting held September 26, 2006.  Bill moved that the minutes be approved and placed on file.  Joe seconded the motion with all members present voting in the affirmative.

 

Treasurer, Steve Masakowski read and presented the treasurers report.

·         The organization has a total of $3,375.49 in the FNCB General Fund, $349.45 in the Fall Festival Reserve, and $150.00 petty cash.

·         Our expenses for 2006 exceed revenue by $300.59.

Stephanie made a motion to accept the treasurer’s report as presented and placed on file.  Joan seconded the motion with all members present voting in the affirmative.

The 1st Vice President, No report:

 

The 2nd Vice President, Tom Kashatus reported:

·         The last Commissioners meeting Palmira was unanimously nominated by the Commissioners as Coordinator for 2007 Great American Cleanup.

·         The Planning Committee meeting time had been changed to 5:00 PM.

·         Members discussed the need to push ahead with revitalization plans instead of doing nothing.

·         Roads in Glen Lyon are being paved with the $125,000.00 grant money issued every 3 years to the Township.

·         A question was asked if the planning committee can undertake a block study to receive grant money.

o        Stephen P. will find out how this study is done.

·         Members discussed the Township manager’s ill health and his job performance.  Also the Township Solicitor not being on a retainer by the Township, therefore, can only do what the Commissioners ask him to do.

 

Publicity Chairman, John Jarecki reports:

1.        Meeting announcements were published in the Times Leader, not in the Citizens Voice.

2.        Carol and John completed the Fall Festival Campaign by placing ads in newspapers, TV public service announcements, church bulletins, and distributing flyers throughout the area.

3.        Stephen P. thanked Linda and Bob for placing the signs for the festival along the roadways.

 

Committee Reports:

·         Recreation, Murph Fletcher reports:

o        He’s still working with GNA for the use of the pool.

o        Nothing new to report on the tea party.

o        The Pine Wood Derby is pending.

·         Fall Festival, Carolyn Phillips reports:

o        Volunteers are needed for set up on Friday at 10am and 7am Saturday.

o        Everyone has their assignments, so dress warm, the temperature on Saturday will be 48.

 

Trustees, Francis Zaleski reports everything is going OK.

 

No Unfinished Business

 

New Business

·         Stephen P. named the 2nd Vice President to bring in warm bodies as new members.

·         $2.00 tickets are on sale with a prize of $100.00 to be given on October 31st.

 

Our next meeting is October 24, 2006, at 6:30PM, Knights of Columbus, Glen Lyon.

 

Joe made a motion to adjourn the meeting.  Heidi seconded the motion.

Meeting adjourned at 7:15 pm.
