PennDOT and Earth Conservancy picked up and blocked access to that area. Steve M. commented the site cleaned was worse than when he worked on the township garbage truck as a teenager. 2. No Dumping signs were placed under our adopt-a-highway sign. DEP has a $25,000 fine for illegal dumping. 3. The 2010 Great American Cleanup Grid was sent out, it was due October 15th. Many events are the same as we did this year, adding a butterfly garden, a playground workday and participating in the St. Patrick Day Parades in Wilkes-Barre & Scranton. A reminder to members, this year’s massive 2 week cleanup events, the Big Junk Drop Off and Illegal Dumpsites, took a toll on our volunteers, especially Tom recycling about14 ton of metal within that 2 week span.
