Attendees:
President, Stephen Phillips called the meeting to order on the above date and time then proceeded to follow the order of business.
Secretary, Palmira Miller read the minutes from the previous meeting held May 9, 2006. The minutes were amended to read past members still interested are Bob Sabotka, and Ron Womelsdorf of Sheatown. Carol Marcincavage and Stephanie Stogoski would be interested. Bill moved that the minutes be approved as amended and placed on file. Mary Jo seconded the motion with all members present voting in the affirmative.
Treasurer, Steve Masakowski was unable to attend. Palmira read the Treasurers report. · The organization has a total of $4,289.58 in the FNCB General Fund, $88.40 in the Printing Reserve and $100.00 petty cash. · The organization has seventy-one (71) paid memberships. Stephanie made a motion to accept the treasurer’s report as presented and placed on file. Sia seconded the motion with all members present voting in the affirmative.
Communications, Palmira read: · Mary Selecky Olympia, WA, sent a $50.00 check for a donation and membership. · Paul and Andrea Selecky Huntington Beach CA, sent a $25.00 check for memberships.
The 1st Vice President, Russ Sager reported: · The 501c3 status is ready for submission as soon as the cover letter is written. Application fee is $150.00. · The $50.00 board is ready to be donated for the Corpus Christi Parish Picnic.
The 2nd Vice President, Tom Kashatus reported and members discussed the following: · Tom Kashatus, Gerry McMahan, Stephanie Stogoski, Jeanie Makarczyk, Bob Connors, Francis Seletski, and Murph Fletcher formed a planning committee for Glen Lyon. They will meet this Friday, May, 26th, at 7pm. This committee is not recognized by the Township Commissioners. · Citizens input at the Commissioners work session and the Sunshine Law was discussed. · Lack of Code Enforcement and how the Township Manager is a divider instead of united in the community. · By keeping the derelict properties in the forefront, which this organization documented, helped eight or nine properties move into the demolition project.
Publicity Chairman, John Jarecki reports: 1. Meeting announcement was published in the Times Leader, but not in the Citizens Voice. 2. Summer Newsletter is on schedule.
Committee Reports: · Carolyn and Stephen P. proofed the plate covers and were ordered by Heidi. · Mary Margaret and Murph presented a schedule of event to be held at the rec park this summer. o Volunteers and supplies are needed. o Events will be listed on the website. o Black and white flyers of events will be printed in the Summer Newsletter. Carolyn made a motion to approve $150.00 to be used for activities at the Rec Park. Linda seconded the motion with all members present voting in the affirmative. · Fall Festival, Carolyn will be sending the deposit for the use of the Grove and will contact last years chair.
No Trustees were in Attendance. No Unfinished Business New Business · ATV Parks, tourism, developing growth in the Township was discussed. · Chester Smocharski stated the Sewer Authority planned for growth and are capable of doubling clients in the Township. The sewer system is the best in the Valley and he offered a tour of the facilities. · June 13th meeting will be conducted by Russ. · June 27th meeting members will prepare the five (5) point plan for the next year.
The next Commissioners Meeting is June 5th at 6:00 pm.
Carolyn made a motion to adjourn the meeting. Steph seconded the motion with all members voting in the affirmative.
